» General requirements to rent a Vehicle
  •  
At the moment of the pick up, the main driver must have : valid driver's license from his country of residence, valid ID and credit card. Sometimes cash deposit is accepted, but this option is not always available.

In addition to presenting a valid driver’s license, all renters are required to present a valid passport in the same name, as a second form of identification.
  •  
The car model and photograph is only informative, regarding the vehicle category. Car model is subject to availability at pick up time in the office.
  •  
At the front desk, the agents would answer any question regarding the rental. If extra services - such as optional coverages - were added to the prepaid reservation, the driver will have to signed the rental agreement where the price breakdown is desplayed. Any extra item will be charged directly to customers.

Upgrades: In case customer chose a different category from the one he paid for, he would incurr in extra charges to be directly paid at the location.

Drop off charges may apply for vehicle delivery in another city or state. These are paid at destination and are not included.
» Rental Rates
Daily Rental rates are based on a 24-hour rental day starting at the time of rental. The minimum charge is one day, plus mileage, if applicable. The renter will be charged for each hour and/or any part of an hour in excess of a rental day, up to the applicable daily rate. If the renter fails to comply with the conditions applicable to the rate, including any geographic driving restrictions, a mileage charge, surcharge or other rates may apply.
» Age Requirement
See below Hertz's policies about age requierements:

The primary renter of the vehicle must be 25 years of age, or for select corporate contracts and international tour accounts, the minimum age is 21.
• 
Additional drivers must meet the same eligibility requirements as the Primary driver.
• 
All drivers must show a valid driver's license at time of rental.
• 
Rental rates may be higher for renters aged 21 - 24. An additional daily fee may apply in most locations for all drivers who do not meet the age requirements.
• 
Certain specialty and larger sized vehicles may not be rented to younger drivers.
• 
Some locations maintain maximum age limits.
• 
Hertz reserves the right to refuse rental of a vehicle if the renter demonstrates inability to handle road rules and conditions.
• 
Renters ages 18 and 19 years old in the state of New York still maintain policy, in which they cannot be added as an AAO, but can rent as a young renter.
» Additional Driver
All additional drivers must meet ALL rental qualifications in regard to age and driving record as well as all other standard rental qualifications.
Must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter.
Must present a valid driver's license from the country of residence.
Must sign the rental agreement.
An additional daily fee may apply for any Additional Drivers.
» Driver's License
A valid (Physical. Not digital) driver's license issued from your country of residence must be presented at the time of rental. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. If the driver's license is in a language other than English, and the rental is in the United States, an International Driver's Permit is recommended. In all cases, a valid driver's license issued from your home country must be provided, whether or not you possess an International Driver's Permit. You will not be allowed to rent a Hertz vehicle with only an International Driver's Permit.

* In Georgia, If you don't have a drivers license in English for pick up, you will need to possess International Driver's License that accompanies it.
» Reservations
Hertz accepts reservations only for car class. Reservations do not guarantee vehicles either of specific trademarks, model year or with particular characteristics not common to all vehicles in the class.
» G. Special Situations
• Late drop off in offices outside the main airports may derive into extra charges.
• Hertz do not extend reservations under any circumstance, reservations are automatically cancelled after midnight of the pick up day. If necessary, it will be required a new reservations. Price and availability are subject to change.
» Rate Quotes
Vehicle rental rates vary considerably from place to place and from time to time, and they change very frequently. A rate quote you receive is merely indicative of the rates then being offered and creates neither legal rights nor practical expectations of vehicle availability or the continued applicability of the quoted rate.
» One way rentals
One-way rentals are those consisting of picking up in one city and returning the vehicle to another city or location. Availability is based on the location's restrictions and the vehicle type being taken one-way. Fees for one-way will be assessed at time of booking.
Cars may not be driven into or dropped in Mexico. Exceptions are regulated by specific renting location.

» Rental Restrictions
The renter will need to advise the rental counter if they intend to drive into Canada.

Hertz vehicles may not be driven into Mexico.

Additional and/or different restrictions may apply in certain states. See your rental agreement for additional information.
» Additional Equipements
Hertz offers child seats for an additional cost. This must be requested and paid at destination.
» Service for Physically Challenged
Customers with disabilities - Hertz provides a full range of services to the physically challenged.

Hand controls are available at all Hertz U.S. locations. Left and right hand controls are offered, with restrictions.

Left and Right Hand Controls are available at no additional fee. Advance booking on hand controls varies from 8 to 72 hours and will determine confirmation of your reservation.

F.Y.I - you will need to bring your handicapped parking permit with you, as Hertz does not provide Handicapped I.D. Cards or car stickers.

» Payment Forms

American Express / Mastercard / Carte Blanche / Diners Club / Discover / Hertz Card / JCB / Visa / Optima/Amex

•  The Credit Card to be presented must have enough credit line, and the debit must also have sufficient funds to cover for the estimated rental car charge and extra deposit of $500.00 for possible incidental charges. The credit/debit cards should have the Visa or MasterCard Logo. The use of debit cards is always subject to a review of your credit card history.
Stored value cards / prepaid cards / gift cards are not accepted as a payment form at the time of vehicle pickup; however, these cards can be used as a form of payment when returning the vehicle. Please, always bear in mind that, at the time of rental reservation pickup you must present a valid driver's license, and a valid credit card in the name of the person who rents the vehicle.
At most offices in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, Hertz will allow you to present certain check / debit cards in lieu of a credit card. (Please note that confirmation of your reservation does not mean that your check / debit card is accepted by Hertz).
•  A credit card will be required for vehicle upgrades above a full-size car class. Debit cards can be used at the conclusion of the rental.
